i know. you're worried i'll get something i'll regret if i rush into this, but i swear, i'm not gonna get something dumb. i already know what i'm getting and it's something important, not like, a thing i'll regret when i'm older.

and i know getting a tattoo is a big deal. i'll have to take care of it and make sure it doesn't get infected or anything like that, but it's not like soeki hasn't done this before. he can tell me what i need to do to make sure everything goes okay. and we already said we'd go to a place you pick. it won't be somewhere weird or sketchy. i'm not gonna let soeki give it to me or anything like that.

It's not that I don't think you know this stuff.
I just think when you're younger it's harder to appreciate what it actually means.
I could find you the best tattoo artist here and there's still a risk the one they screw up on might be yours, or it doesn't look as good as you thought, or you wish you got it in a different spot.
Obviously we'd never take you anywhere that didn't practice good health and safety, but sterilization isn't perfect and I get the feeling they don't use disposable needles here.
If you get a tattoo we'll do whatever we can to make it safe and make sure you're happy with it, but there's no way for us to guarantee that.

you're not old and boring, you're being like, overly cautious and kinda annoying, but i know you're just worried. but that doesn't mean i'm not gonna do it. i'll be careful and i'm not going to run off and get the tattoo right now or anything, but i'm still going to do it.
