[He grins, kissing him quickly one more time before he stands up, hurrying over to sort through the small pile of gifts he has under the tree. He obscures something small behind his back, taking a bigger parcel which he hands over to Soeki as he takes his seat again.]
[Soeki can't help the quiet laugh as Oliver has to amend his time estimate. Not being able to lie is probably hard, but the little hiccups like that are adorable. When he returns, he takes the box, grinning wide and leaning in for another kiss first.] Merry Christmas.
[And then peels off the paper and opens it with an undeniable glint in his eyes. Look, everyone likes presents.]
[He kisses him back, but only briefly, wanting to see Soeki's reaction. He's nervous. It's not as good a present as Soeki's to him, but he wants him to like it. Inside the package is a mixture of clothes, suitable for both his day and larger night forms.]
Jade made them. And helped design them. I wanted them to be things you actually liked.
[Which means they're pretty gothy, but Oliver's input has probably toned most of them down a bit.]
[When he opens the box, and looks through the clothes inside, his smile just widens, brightens. He's a grown man who would probably still dress like a Hot Topic ad if he wasn't trying to be a grown man (with a boyfriend), but the blacks and reds and gothic touches are present, even though he could have gotten Soeki anything and he would have worn them. More than clothes, it's a subtle gesture that claims acceptance.
Soeki throws his arms around him and hugs him tight.] Thank you. Seriously, I love them. I love you.
[Oliver grins as he wraps three of his arms around him. He trusts Jade's judgement, but it's still good to know Soeki likes them. He's a little unsure about most of them himself and even after knowing Soeki all this time he doesn't quite feel like he fully understands what he would and wouldn't wear.]
I love you. And I think you're really going to love your next gift...
[Luckily he's toned down in his old age, and mostly gone are his band shirts and skinny jeans, so most of his goth aesthetic shows through in his color choices - usually blacks, reds, and greys.
He laughs a little at the next comment.] There's more?
Oliver smiles widely at the comment, pulling back slightly without letting go so he can look at him as he pulls the mistletoe from behind his back and holds it up.]
[Mistletoe. That gets a big grin out of Soeki, and he leans in expectantly, golden eyes glittering.] Hmmm. Did you save the gift receipt? [He's teasing, leaning his forehead briefly against Oliver's before he kisses him.]
I'm kidding. This is my favorite thing. [He murmurs against Oliver's mouth, the corners of his lips turned up with delight, before he kisses him again, open-mouthed. He settles his hand on Oliver's knee for a moment, but it isn't long before it's trailing lightly up his thigh.]
It is. [It's the truth, simple and easy. It's come as a surprise how much he enjoys this, just being with Oliver. How well they've done together. Moving in together is a big step but it feels like the right choice.
He nips softly at his bottom lip, running his nails gently over his thigh through the fabric of his pants.] I can't wait to look at places with you.
[Oliver drops the mistletoe, cupping the back of his head with his newly free hand.]
Me neither. I love being around you. I can't wait to have someplace that's officially ours.
[Not that it doesn't already feel like that a lot of the time. They spend so much time together, but it's exciting to be consciously making the decision.]
[He laughs a little, leaning into the touch.] I mean, I've halfway moved in as it is, but it'll be good to have a bigger place. One that's officially ours. [He's still a little disbelieving that he managed to get this far. Soeki has mostly been commitmentphobic during his life, but here he is, initiating the big step. And it's going well. It's going so much better than he imagined.]
Yeah, we'll definitely find somewhere nice. We're both a lot more stable now than when we first got our current places. [Soeki had been desperate to get off a park bench and roomed with the first person to offer it (a good choice, though, honestly), and... Well. Oliver hadn't been in a great place when he'd moved into his own apartment, had he?]
Yeah, Marco's great. It could have been a lot worse.
[He pauses, shoulders slumping just slightly as he thinks about his roommate.] I've already asked if he'd mind. He's happy for us, but... I'm trying to convince him to ask Fiddleford to move in with him. And I'll keep checking in on him.

[He takes the time to kiss him again, wanting to show his appreciation.
His own gift isn't anywhere near so special, and it's starting to sink in that whatever he gives him now is sure to be a disappointment.]
...I didn't get you anything that good.

Oliver, you said yes. That's all the gift I needed.
no subject
Saying yes still isn't a good gift.

Soeki deserves something, even if it's not anything quite as special.]
Okay, okay. You need to stop for a minute. Wait there.

Okay, I'll wait.

[Speaking of...]
Hey, do you think he's going to be okay if we do this? He doesn't seem like the kind of guy who should live on his own.

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to kill the mood.
