[Oliver's on the couch when Soeki comes back, watching a movie old even by Ryslig's standards with a mug of cocoa. It's not a Christmas movie, but it's nice, and probably the closest he's going to get. At least with decorations up it still feels festive.
Especially when the door opens to reveal Soeki. He grins widely, getting up so he can come over and welcome him, helping him brush some of the remaining snowflakes away as he presses a chaste kiss to his lips.]
[He returns that kiss with a pleased little sound, ducking his head after to let Oliver finish brushing snowflakes from his hair. It's not snowing too hard out, just enough to make everything seem a little more peaceful, dusting everything with white.]
Finished up early, I didn't have a lot to take around. [Which is kind of a depressing thought on its own, but he doesn't dwell on it, just beams and holds out the medium sized box, wrapped in brown paper on which he's drawn a bunch of mistletoe in pen. Ryslig, unfortunately, does not have Christmas themed wrapping paper.] Trade you for a mug of hot chocolate.
[He's grinning, savoring the lingering touch, unable to help himself from leaning in for another brief kiss.]
You didn't have to do anything to get a present out of me. But the hot chocolate smells great and you love me so you should give me some. And then we can sit down and you can open your present.
Loving you doesn't mean I have to do everything you tell me to.
[Eye rolling is probably more effective when you aren't smiling. He does pull away though, and start into the kitchen to prepare Soeki his own mug of chocolate.]
Shouldn't we be waiting until tomorrow to open presents though? It's still only Christmas Eve.
It's Christmas, where's your generous spirit? [But he's laughing, moving to set the wrapped box on the coffee table and follow Oliver into the kitchen. As soon as he spies a good opportunity, he slips behind him, not too close to avoid handling his wings, to lean over and press a kiss to the back of his neck.]
We can if you want, but I'm impatient. [And a little nervous.]
[Everything is pretty much ready. He only needs to reheat it, so he stands at the stove, making a quiet sound of appreciation at the kiss to his neck.
He hadn't expected to trade gifts tonight, but it's not that big a deal. It doesn't mean they won't still have a good time tomorrow. He chuckles fondly, the teasing obvious in his voice.]
[He noses briefly at his fluff, tracing a line halfway up and down his back, breathing in his scent. After all the time spent together it's comforting, familiar.]
Flatterer. [It's warm and a little teasing, because he still gets a bit awkward at compliments, like he's not entirely sure what to do with them.] C'mon, I want to see you open your gift. [And he wants to know what the answer to his question is going to be, but that's a surprise. He just hopes it's not too big a gesture.]
I can get it a few minutes. [Possibly on your way out the door, his brain helpfully (traitorously) supplies, but no. Things are going great. He has no real reason to believe that this won't go well too.] The box on the coffee table isn't the only thing. [Because otherwise the pair of goofy dog slippers might be slightly disappointing coming from a boyfriend.]
I changed my mind, I can wait. [He settles his hands on Oliver's hips, thumbing lightly through fabric; the implication, that look on Oliver's face, startles a laugh out of him.]
Not yet. You'll definitely get your Christmas blowjob but- it's something else.
[He starts to lean forward, intending to kiss him. Realizing he's misjudged the situation throws him off though, and he stops to look at him, confused and a little embarrassed at the conclusion he jumped to.]
[Soeki leans in to meet him and steals a kiss anyway, still smiling, a little embarrassed himself maybe.]
Believe me, I am all for that, it is totally on the agenda, but- [He's never said no outright to sex. Ever. But he wants to get this out of the way first. He reaches down to take one of Oliver's hands in his and tug him out to the living room.] Okay, box or surprise first?
[Oliver allows himself to be led, kind of nervous now. It's a gift, so it can't be a bad thing, but the way Soeki's behaving is weird. He can't help it. He has no idea which option to choose.]
I don't know. What were you planning on giving me first?
[He's nervous, is what it is. Soeki always gets strange when he's nervous; he doesn't mean to, but it's hard to help. This is a big step. Not marriage proposal big, but here it might as well be, almost. He laughs sheepishly and hands him the box first.]
[The slippers might have been a bigger hit if Oliver wasn't already anxiously going over the options of what the surprise might be.
There's no way Soeki's proposing, but that doesn't stop the idea flashing through his mind. Maybe it's Fourth related. Or he thinks their love life is getting stale and he wants something more exciting.
His first instinct upon opening the box is to try and get clues from it in case they're related. Doing that, the slippers raise even more concerns.]
[He laughs sheepishly, running a hand through his hair and leaning on his elbows.]
I'm sorry, I fucked this all up, no that was supposed to like, break the ice I guess. I'm not good at surprises and honestly I've been kind of nervous about it?
I really like you. I love you. I think things are going really well, and I was wondering... Do you want to move in together? Either here, or we could get a new place?
[When he says yes, it's a huge relief. Not that he really, legitimately thought that Oliver would say no and break up with him or anything like that, but still, he'd been nervous about the outcome. When Oliver laughs, Soeki does too, winding his arms around his waist and hugging him close.]
Let's do it then. Do you want to stay here, or find a new place together? I wasn't sure, otherwise I was going to like, give you the keys to an apartment and ask like that, which probably would have been more romantic but...
Yeah, but I want to be like hey, surprise! You're moving! And have you get pissed about that, because it could have been a dick move. [It was a move that either would have been taken really well, or really poorly. He didn't take the risk.
He's all too happy to return that kiss, bringing a hand up to the back of his neck to run his fingers through the fluff there.] Thank god, because no offense, your place is small. Half the time, I am not.
I wouldn't have been pissed. I've actually dated someone who was like "hey, surprise! I'm moving in." It made me really happy, but keys to a new place at least gives more opportunity to say no if I'd wanted. Which I wouldn't have.
[He's excited about the move already.]
Though I'm not going to complain about the chance to get to look at new places with you. It'll make it special.

Maybe I should have held off on buying anything if that was all I needed to get a present out of you.

I knew that already.

We can call it a new tradition. Christmas Eve is you and me time, Christmas Day is for everyone else.

I love you so much. I don't know what I did to deserve such a good boyfriend.

[He does turn off the stove though. Given Soeki's affection, Oliver has an idea of what his other gift might be. He turns around, smirk on his face.]
Did you want to take this gift exchange to the bedroom?

Yes. Obviously. I'd love to live with you.

I kind of want somewhere different. It would be nice to live somewhere we picked out together.
